Potential Mapping (P.M)
P.M. is used to generate classified map from point data. P.M. applies a moving weighted average function to derive a surface for the attribute TDS, NO3, and 3H of each groundwater well.
The function is applied to the data using a radial approach:
A circle is dropped over each point (well) in the data set and the neighboring point values that fall within the circle are used, depending on the function to compute a value that circular area around the point. The process is repeated for each point and the surface generated by averaging the values from overlapping circle.
